The Boston Bruins will be wrapping up their five-game road trip tonight against the Detroit Red Wings, and ahead of their game, the NHL issued a shocking statement regarding the Bruins that has left fans speechless.
During the NHL trade deadline Don Sweeney and the Boston Bruins completely blindsided their fans when they had a fire sale.
Everyone knew that the Bruins were going to make some big moves, as they weren't sitting in a playoff spot, and Cam Neely stated earlier in the year that the direction the Bruins go at the trade deadline was going to depend where they sit in the standings.
At the deadline, Don Sweeney went ballistic trading away multiple fan favourites including Trent Frederic, Justin Brazeau, Charlie Coyle, Brandon Carlo, and the biggest shock was their captain Brad Marchand who has spent his entire career with the Bruins ever since being drafted by them.
The Bruins have a slim chance of making the playoffs this year, but the NHL may think otherwise as they have left fans speechless with a recent announcement today.
