Toronto Maple Leafs steal a forward from the Boston Bruins: Elliotte Friedman just confirmed it

A recent announcement by NHL insider, Elliotte Friedman, has unveiled that the Toronto Maple Leafs ultimately stole a forward from the Boston Bruins.
The Boston Bruins have been working hard at pursuing the organization's on-going re-tool, and in order for the team to become bigger competitors for the 2025/26 NHL season, general manager, Don Sweeney, and the front office are desperate need to acquire new skilled talent.
And new insight has unveiled that the Boston Bruins had their eyes on a 24-year old forward this free agency, in hopes to move forward in their re-build, yet, this forward was ultimately stolen from the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Moments before this year's NHL free agency, on June 30th, the Toronto Maple Leafs acquired 24-year old winger, Mattias Macelli, by the Utah Mammoths for a 3rd-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft.
However, new insight by an NHL insider has surfaced, revealing that the Boston Bruins were interested in acquiring his forward.
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman announced this on his 32 Thoughts podcast.

Although this acquisition fell through, the Boston Bruins need to now find a replacement player to take over this position.
