Penguins Rookie Knocked Out After Scary Hit
In his NHL debut, rookie defenseman John Ludvig had an unexpected introduction that he likely didn't envision.
During the Pittsburgh Penguins' matchup with the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night, Ludvig had a daunting collision in the neutral zone, resulting in an unsettling incident.
Ludvig attempted a massive hit on the Stars' Radek Faska, but the tables turned as he found himself on the receiving end, briefly appearing unconscious. The Penguins' trainers and teammates came to his aid, assisting him off the ice.
Ludvig, who had limited ice time at 5:29 before his exit, will undergo a reevaluation.
This 23-year-old defenseman joined the Penguins after being acquired through a waiver claim earlier in October. While this might not have been the ideal NHL debut, the focus now shifts to Ludvig's recovery, with hopes for a swift return to action.
