During their game four loss, the Toronto Maple Leafs got some unfortunate news, and it could be over for them.
John Tavares ended up being injured during the game, and after the loss, the Leafs provided an update on the former captain of the team.
Not long into overtime, John Tavares took a huge hit from Ottawa Senators defenseman Artem Zub away from the puck.
Tavares was forced to leave the period for a good amount of time, and there was speculation it was for concussion protocol reasons. Not long after Tavares left the game, the Leafs got a 4-minute power play, but clearly missed Tavares out there as they weren't able to capitalize.
The Leafs five forward power play had been super dominate for them and losing Tavares may have costed them the game.
After the game, Toronto Maple Leafs new head coach Craig Berube did not seem too worried about Tavares status.
"I don't think there is any concern. He had to go off."
When speaking to reporters after the game, a lot of the Leafs players did not see the hit but were asked about it. Along with Berube, Nylander also stated that there doesn't seem to be much concern over his health moving forward.
