The Boston Bruins defeated the Carolina Hurricanes by a score of 5-2 on Thursday night to force a game seven on Saturday night in Raleigh.
Brad Marchand scored the first goal of the game for his fourth of the 2022 Stanley Cup playoffs. With the goal, Marchand broke a franchise playoff record for the Bruins with his tenth goal when facing elimination. He was previously tied at nine with Peter McNab.
Marchand ties Patrice Bergeron for second on the all-time playoff goals in Bruins' history with the 49th of his career. Marchand also tied teammate Bergeron and three other former Bruins for the franchise record of most consecutive home playoff games with a goal.
The current list looks as such:
Brad Marchand – 5 games
Patrice Bergeron – 5 games
Cam Neely – 5 games
Barry Pederson – 5 games
Jean Ratelle – 5 games
Let's hope Marchy has a chance to break this record!
The Bruins will now travel to Raleigh, North Carolina, to face the Hurricanes for game seven at PNC Arena. A building where Boston hasn't won in since a 4-0 victory way back on May 17th, 2019.
