A recent trade between the Arizona Coyotes and Calgary Flames showed the tough personal side to the NHL.
Right before the 3 pm deadline, the teams swapped brother Nick Ritchie and Brett Ritchie in a four player trade. As per Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman:
''Full CAL/ARIZ trade: Stecher and Ritchie for Mackey and Ritchie. Brothers get traded for each other''
Brett, 29, has 6 goals and 2 assists in 34 games with the Flames. While his younger brother Nick, 27, has 9 goals and 12 assists in 58 games for the Coyotes.
Both Ritchie brothers spent some time in Boston, even at the same time during the 2019-20 Bruins season.
