The 2015 NHL Entry Draft was the first draft under general manager Don Sweeney and he set himself up with three straight picks in the first round (13th, 14th and 15th overall).
Sweeney used those picks to select defenseman Jakub Zboril, left winger Jake DeBrusk and right winger Zach Senyshyn.
Zboril is currently in his first professional season with the Providence Bruins after a very successful QMJHL career with the Saint John Sea Dogs that saw him score 28 goals and 94 points to go with a +31 goal differential in 144 games.
Friday night was a big one for the young Czech defender as he scored his first professional goal during a 5-2 win over the Hershey Bears. Zboril has a goal and six assists through his first 40 AHL games, but he is not down there to rack up the points. He has shown steady improvement over the course of the season as he tries to develop into an NHL blue liner.
