The tandem has managed to accomplish a feat that has only happened twice in NHL history.
Let's be honest, for a player to suit up in 1000 NHL games is a rare enough accomplishment. But when that player follows a family member in doing so, it makes it that much more remarkable.
On Tuesday night, Foligno will suit up in the 1000th regular season game of his career. His father, Mike Foligno, did the same back in the 1993-94 campaign, when he played in his thousandth game while suiting up for the Florida Panthers.
As for Brett Hull, he played in a grand total of 1269 regular season games in the NHL, while his father, Bobby, finished his Hall of Fame career with 1063 games played.
Just how rare is that accomplishement for a father-son duo you may ask?
Well, the Foligno's are set to become just the second father-son combination in the NHL's 105-year history to have each played in 1000 career games.
That's some pretty unreal stuff right there! Foligno and the Bruins will take on the Hawks in tonight's game, scheduled for an 8:30 pm ET start.
