North Carolina Governor takes shot at Brad Marchand after Bruins loss
Trocheck quipped back, "are you calling me a rat?" And of course in classic Marchand fashion he took to Instagram to respond.
Marchand replied with simply, "that's like comparing a Lambo to a Prius." Marchand went on to show how significantly better his stats were compared to Trocheck.
This all seemed to be in good fun and like both players had moved on from the incident. But after the Bruins 6-0 loss to the Hurricanes, the Governor of North Carolina felt he needed to throw in one final dig at Marchand. Roy Cooper took to Twitter and left the following message, tagging Marchand along the way.
Another impressive win by our @Canes against the @NHL Bruins tonight. Wouldn't have mattered if the Lamborghini Marchand @Bmarch63 had played. His cheap shots last night will give him a lot more time to post pretentious, misleading smaller hockey market tripe anyway.
This situation is clearly very interesting, but it will get even more interesting if Marchand choose to reply to Governor Cooper.
