One year ago today, Bruins veteran Nick Foligno joined his father Mike and achieved an NHL first.
On March 15th, 2022, Foligno played in his 1000th career game as the Bruins visited the Chicago Blackhawks.
As per author Mike Commito:
''One year ago today, @NickFoligno played in his 1,000th career game. He and his dad, Mike, became the second father-son combo in NHL history to reach the milestone #Hockey365 #NHLBruins''
Foligno's father, Mike, appeared in 1,018 games from 1979-94 with the Detroit Red Wings, Buffalo Sabres, Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers.
Nick's younger brother Marcus, 22, isn't too far behind either, as he currently sits at 731 career games. The Bruins will visit Marcus and the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night.
Unfortunately, the brothers may have to watch from the stands together, as they're both out with injuries.
