The Boston Bruins knew they were going to be shorthanded to start the 2022-23 season and they would need other guys to step up. That's exactly what defenseman Hampus Lindholm did in the absence of Charlie McAvoy.
But just how good has Lindholm been to start this season?
Through the first 15 games this season, the 28-year-old has 4 goals and 10 assists to sit tied for sixth in defenseman scoring in the NHL. He's also a plus-15 rating with an average of 24:28 time on ice.
One statistic stands out with Lindholm's short tenure in Boston, however
(not counting Saturday night):
- Through 28 games as a member of the Bruins, Lindholm has never had a game with a minus rating yet.
Here are a couple more impressive stats:
- During the regular season, Boston has an overall record of 24-4-0 with the Swede defender in the lineup
- At five-on-five, the team has outscored opponents by a score of 27-11 when Lindholm is on the ice, regular season and playoffs.
