Longtime NHL forward Phil Kessel has always been the one guy you would never know is a professional athlete if you didn't know who he was.
From when he was a first-round pick by the Boston Bruins, to the Toronto Maple Leafs, and to a Stanley Cup champion with the Pittsburg Penguins, Kessel has always been known as ''out of shape'' in a sense.
The running theme has always been that the veteran doesn't care about his pre-camp condition - insert hotdog jokes - however, it appears as though that may have changed for the upcoming season with the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Golden Knights shared a photo of Kessel doing an interview at the club's annual golf tournament, and he's arguably in one of the best shapes of his career at age 34.
Kessel had a bit of a down year on the lowly Arizona Coyotes last season, only recording 8 goals but still finishing with 52 points. The NHL vet has 399 goals and 557 assists in 1,204 career games.
Listed at 6'0'' and 223 lbs., it will be interesting to see if that changes before the start of the 2022-23 season.
