The Boston Bruins and general manager Don Sweeney continue to work the phonesnhy swz as they look to add some help for another Stanley Cup run.
The main priority of course is to land some top 6 help and solid winger for center David Krejci.
While the Bruins' focus seems to remain Kreider, according to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman the team is also focused on a Western Conference winger.
Friedman reports on the latest edition of the "31 Thoughts" podcast that the Bruins have labeled Chicago Blackhawks forward
Brandon Saad as a potential target.
It would have to be a "hockey trade" as both teams are right up against the salary cap with less than $200k of room.
Saad is an interesting fit because even though he's dealt with an injury this season he's still been able to register 18 goals in 48 games after scoring 23 goals last year on a dismal Blackhawks team.
He's also signed through 2020-21 so it would be more than a rental for the Bruins.
Do you think the two time Stanley Cup champ is a good fit for the Bruins?
