Former NHL forward Nick Shore is in hot water for slashing a referee during a game in the Swedish Elite League (SHL).
Shore currently plays for HV71 Jonkoping and after not converting on a scoring chance, he was immediately ejected for making contact with one of the officials.
It appears to be completely accidental as he wound up for the swing before even seeing the ref, but it's an automatic ejection no matter what.
Shore was selected in the third round (82nd overall) by the Los Angeles Kings in 2011. The forward appeared in 299 games with the Kings, Senators, Flames, Maple Leafs and Jets, recording 59 points.
The 30-year-old has spent the past five years in Slovak, Russian, Swiss and Swedish pro leagues.
