The Winnipeg Jets are off to a hot start after a disappointing 2021-22 season, as they currently sit one point out of first place in the Central Division with a 10-4-1 record.
However, head coach Rick Bowness shared some tough news regarding one of the Jets' star forwards Saturday morning. TSN's John Lu shared the news this morning:
''Rick Bowness said
Nikolaj Ehlers will undergo sports hernia surgery next week. Details will be finalized in due course; no timeline available at this time.''
Bowness noted that Ehlers felt something wasn't right against the Dallas Stars back on October 17th, so he pulled himself from the game. The bench boss was also very adamant that the forward would play again this season.
Ehlers, 26, has appeared in just two games this season, recording three assists. The Denmark native registered 28 goals and 27 assists in 62 games with the Jets last season.
