Official: Former Boston Bruins forward Erik Haula traded by the New Jersey Devils
Late last night, the NHL saw some action just the day after the Stanley Cup Finals came to an end.
There were multiple signings announced, and then out of nowhere a trade between the Nashville Predators and New Jersey Devils was announced.
Nashville ended up making a splash on Wednesday whenever they acquired former Boston Bruins forward Erik Haula from the New Jersey Devils.
Haula returning to an old team
Haula is once again returning back to the Nashville Predators. He spent the 2020-21 season with the organization, scoring 9 goals, 12 assists for 21 points in 51 games.
«We are excited to have Erik join our team today,» Predators general manager Barry Trotz said. «He brings great flexibility to our roster with the ability to play up and down the lineup in a variety of different roles. We are confident that he'll be able to play alongside our young players, helping to accelerate their development.»
Haula hasn't really been anything more then a depth player. This previous season he had 21 points, 11 goals, 10 assists while averaging 14:42 of ice time in 69 games.
The Predators now own nine selections in the 2025 NHL Draft, set to be held next week from June 27-28 in Los Angeles - three in the first round; two in the second and sixth rounds; and one in the third and fifth rounds.
Hanzel was originally drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the 6th round of the 2023 NHL Draft.
Last year at the deadline, he was traded by the Avalanche to the Predators, and is now once again on his way to a new team.
After the trade, this is how Nashville's projected lines are going to be:
