A major development in John Tortorella being hired following recent rumours involving the Boston Bruins

Towards the end of the year, the Philadelphia Flyers ended up firing head coach John Tortorella, and he was heavily linked to the Boston Bruins after the firing, but now it seems like he may have his next job lined up.

Tortorella has been in the NHL as a coach for a very long time. He's always had some success towards the beginning of his coaching gigs, but it seems like that wears off not long after, and the same happened with the Flyers.

He has been known to be a controversial coach, and mistreat players, and many believed because of this, that his career was coming to an end, but it seems like that's not the case at all.

The New York Rangers ended up hiring Mike Sullivan this morning, and following that announcement, multiple reports suggested that Tortorella may also have a job lined up.

Reports have suggested that Tortorella may join Sullivan in New York, and become a part of his coaching staff.

Weeks ago, there was some speculation that Tortorella may become the next head coach of the New York Rangers, but with that out of the question, there is still a chance that he could be a part of Sullivan's coaching staff.

There doesn't seem to be too much interest in teams hiring Torts as a head coach, and that's not too surprising with what went down in Philadelphia, but there is no doubt that he could be effective as an assistant coach.
