In the 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs, Brad Marchand and the Florida Panthers delivered a powerful response to the Toronto Maple Leafs in their second-round series, and the former Boston Bruins captain, Brad Marchand, received an immense amount of applause by the National Hockey League.
Trailing 2-0 by Game 2, the Panthers were facing the risk of failing further behind in Game 3, which would later roll into overtime, and with less than five minutes left in the extra period, the Bruins' fan-favourite would score the game-winning goal, securing a 5-4 win for Florida.
This victory narrowed Toronto's series lead to 2-1, sending a clear message to the NHL that the Panthers are far from out of the fight.
Marchand's goal was a historic moment to say the least, and with other playoff veterans like Ondrej Palat, and Evgeni Malkin no longer in postseason, this 36-year old star now stands alone as one of the league's top playoff performers.
