After the Boston Bruins lost their captain during this year's NHL Trade Deadline, speculations have been looming regarding who will be the next in the franchise to wear the 'C' on their jersey, and new insight has just revealed it all from teammates.

After trading longtime captain Brad Marchand at the NHL trade deadline the Boston Bruins are now in need of a new leader to headline the roster, and lead them back to their winning ways.
It took Don Sweeney less than an hour on trade deadline day to gut the entire leadership group, trading Brad Marchand, Charlie Coyle, and Brandon Carlo.
And with Charlie McAvoy's health not subpar, he is not deemed reliable to lead this Bruins group back to their winning ways.
According to his teammates and fellow coaches, Pastrnak has stepped up and has done everything a captain would and more, despite not having the letter on his chest yet.
«Yeah, no, he's been awesome. I mean, he's a really vocal guy. He's really passionate, he cares, you know,» said newcomer Nikita Zadorov about Pastrnak. «And that's what you want to see from the guys like that. When you go on the ice, you go to battle with him; you know he's going to die for you. He's a big part of this team, and he's a big part of the future.»

One of the other candidates to don the C on his jersey, Charlie McAvoy, also hinted at who should be their team's next captain:
«I thought David [Pastrnak] was the best player in the NHL down the stretchhe was incredible,» said fellow co-captain Charlie McAvoy. «He led by example. He led by being, from what I've gathered, more vocal than he's normally been. He did everything he could have possibly done to help this team, and he did it, and it was a joy to watch every night. I think he's to be commended for the way that he handled himself post-deadline. So, yeah, I can't say enough good things about what Pasta did for this team down the stretch.»

Pastrnak's been here for quite some time now and has witnessed the legacy of two legendary captains in Zdeno Chara and Patrice Bergeron, he is well aware of what makes a real captain.
«I'm confident enough to be one of the leaders and lead the teamAnd moving forward, we still have a good (core). We obviously have a lot of work to do ahead, and we will put the time together and make sure we become and be a much, much better Boston Bruins team this year.» Said Pasta

All eyes are now on the Bruins, as the ball's in there court to name Pasta as the next captain.
