During the opening hours of free agency, the Boston Bruins shocked a lot of people around the league whenever they signed enforcer Tanner Jeannot.

Jeannot signed a five-year contract worth $17 million, and many around the league where shocked whenever they heard this.
At the beginning of his career, there was a lot of promise with Jeannot scoring 24 goals, and 41 points in 81 games while having 130 penalty minutes, while also having 318 hits, but this was back during the 2021-22 season.
Since then, his offensive numbers have dipped a lot scoring just 7 goals, 6 assists for 13 points in 67 games for the L.A. Kings.
Being traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning ruined Jeannot's potential, as he played just 23 games between the regular season and playoffs. After two seasons, he was traded to the LA Kings.

Jeannot meets with the media

Jeannot is now preparing to play for his third team in as many years, and according to him, he feels like Boston is the best fit for him.
«Being the type of culture that I've tried to emulate in my own game, it obviously sparked some interest for me when they showed interest in me,» Jeannot said, via Bruins reporter Eric Russo. «Just as a place that I could go to, play my game and be the best version of the player that I can be, and really show my full potential - be the player I know I'm capable of being, and that was a big reason for choosing the Bruins. I can't be more excited to get things going and become a Bruin.»

Tanner Jeannot's play style perfectly fits the Boston Bruins play style.
Although his offense isn't there, Jeannot is still one of the more physical players in the league.
Since hitting over 300 hits in his first full season, he has not hit that number again, but he stated he is willing and ready to throw the body once again.
«I bring a really physical game, hard to play against. I try to make other guys know that I'm on the ice, and make them feel uncomfortable, and maybe that makes them get rid of pucks a little bit quicker, put their teammate in a tougher spot,» said Jeannot, via Russo. «And that tends to create more turnovers and gets the puck into my team's hands a little bit more often. So that's the type of element that I can bring to a line.»
