According to a recent report, the Boston Bruins may be set to reunite with former fan favourite Ryan Donato during the off-season to try and speed up their retool.

This off-season is going to be a super busy one for the Boston Bruins, or else it should it. They had one of the worst seasons possible this year after believing that they were going to be a more competitive team with the moves they made in the last off-season.
After trading away a bunch of their core players, and players that meant a lot to the organization, they will now look to add more new talent to the roster this off-season.
With the cap space going up this off-season, the Bruins are sitting in a good position to be able to spend money. With that being said, the Bruins will be able to add some big pieces to their roster in free agency if they would like too, and a former Boston Bruins fan favourite has emerged as a top candidate to come back to the season.

Boston Bruins to Bring Back Former Fan Favourite

Ryan Donato is set to become an unrestricted free agent if he doesn't re-sign with the Chicago Blackhawks during the off-season, and if he doesn't, he should be someone at the top of the Bruins list.
Donato was drafted by the Boston Bruins organization 56th overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, and played his first two seasons in the NHL with the organization. He would appear in just 46 games in two seasons with the Bruins where he had 11 goals, and 18 points.
He was than traded to the Minnesota Wild during the 2019 NHL trade deadline and in return the Boston Bruins got Charlie Coyle, who was just traded at this years trade deadline.
The Boston Bruins need some help down the middle, and if Donato hits the open market, he would be a prime candidate especially with the year he just had with the Blackhawks.
Donato set new career highs in goals with 31, assists with 31, and points with 62 in 80 games played.
After having a career year, Donato will definitely be looking at securing a pay raise, but the Boston Bruins have plenty of cap space to make it work.
