After defeating the Ottawa Senators during the first-round, the Toronto Maple Leafs punched their ticket to the second-round for the second time in three years, and the fan base has something to look forward too.

The opening series for the Leafs was impressive, although at times it looked like they were going to choke it like they have in the past, but at the end of the day they ended up defeating the Senators in six games.
Some of their big players stepped up, including Mitch Marner who ended up having one goal, seven assists for eight points in their series win.
There are still some big question marks around Marner's future with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Right now it's not a big stress for the team as they are still playing in the Playoffs right now, but it's something they are going to have to answer soon in the off-season.

Insider Officially Links Marner To The Bruins

According to Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic, Marner has officially been linked to the Boston Bruins, and Shinzawa also urged the organization to sign the star forward to a seven-year, $94.5 million deal.
«Signing Mitch Marner would give the Bruins the league's best one-two punch at right wing with Pastrnak. The do-it-all Marner also would follow Pastrnak's model in that he does not necessarily require a playmaking center to get him the puck.

«Marner would become a regular on the penalty kill, even giving the Bruins a possible five-forward power play because of his smarts and coolness up high in the formation. The investment would be worth every cent because of how many areas of the game he touches,» they wrote.

There is some speculation that Marner will be looking to get around $14.5 to $14 million on his next deal, and if the Leafs aren't comfortable locking him up, the Bruins should do what it takes to acquire him.
Marner had a solid regular season, posting 102 points and is continuing to look good in the playoffs right now.
