An NHL insider just revealed that the Boston Bruins may combine for a massive trade with one of their biggest rivals in the Montreal Canadiens in the off-season to help build up their prospect pool.
According to
The Athletic, the Montreal Canadiens have the third ranked prospect pool in the NHL.
They are loaded with prospects, and could use that to their advantage during the off-season to make some big, and much needed moves to help them take that next step forward for the 2025-26 season.
NHL insider Arpon Basu suggested that General Manager Kent Hughes of the Montreal Canadiens may target lower ranked prospect teams like the Boston Bruins who are currently ranked 30th in the league.
Arpon Basu revealed who the Boston Bruins may end up trading to the Montreal Canadiens in the off-season to acquire a top prospect.
Bruins And Canadiens To Combine For A Huge Trade
Entering the 2025-26 season, it's clear that the Montreal Canadiens are in need of a second line center, and according to Basu, the Bruins may be willing to move on from
Pavel Zacha in a trade.
Zacha has two years left on his contract at just $4.75 million a year. The 28-year-old had a dip in his production last season and because of that the Bruins may be willing to move on from him.
Here is what Basu had to say on it:
"There is no team that should be more desperate to add futures than the Boston Bruins...
"If Zacha can bring in a decent draft pick and a prospect with two years left on his contract, that would make a lot of sense for the Bruins to at least consider, even if it would mean dealing with the hated Canadiens."
Do you think the Boston Bruins should trade Pavel Zacha to the Montreal Canadiens?
