Ever since then, they have yet to replace him and it has drastically impacted the Boston Bruins top-six.
Don Sweeney believed the Bruins could replace him with a player in the Bruins system, but he was unable too.
Last year, it became evident on how much the Bruins were missing Jake DeBrusk, and many believed heading into the off-season that Don Sweeney was going to find a new top-six player.
During Marco Sturms introductory press conference, they talked about needing some secondary scoring, giving fans hope that the Bruins were going to make some big moves in free agency, but this wasn't the case.
Now, a top insider revealed that the Bruins are preparing to make a big move to improve their roster.

According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the Boston Bruins are gearing up to make a big move, but it's not gonna come this year.
Friedman believes that the Boston Bruins are going to wait until next year to try and get a top-six player:
