NHL insider, Elliotte Friedman, reveals troubling report regarding the Boston Bruins organization and their starting net-minder, Jeremy Swayman.
The Boston Bruins still have several moves to make this offseason if they intend to complete their ongoing retool before the 2025/26 NHL season begins, and with August here already, the organization needs to get the ball rolling.
That said, the organization has been linked to several acquisitions and departures, yet, one of their biggest trade candidates has just been revealed to not be as appealing to organization's within the league after all.
This Bruin is Boston's current starting net-minder, Jeremy Swayman.
Boston Bruins' Jeremy Swayman has been suggested to be departing from the organization this offseason
Swayman's last season was pretty underwhelming to say the least, and this ultimately left his name to creep into trade rumors ever since the end of the 2024/25 NHL season.
Trading Swayman this offseason would conclude in the Boston Bruins undergoing a full rebuild rather than just a retool, but it seemed as though fans were ready for it.
As this organization is in dire need to undergo a full turnaround, and the first step would be to trade off their net-minder, who is evidently struggling, before his no-movement clause kicks off next season.
Additionally, Swayman has been claimed to be a huge trade asset if the Bruins decided to depart with him, however, it seems as though that might've changed.
Troubling report regarding Jeremy Swayman reveals he may not be a trade asset after all
A recent report by NHL insider, Elliotte Friedman, was posted on social media, via «X», revealing that organization's may want to avoid the gamble on acquiring Swayman.

Although Swayman has been seen as a massive trade asset and the only thing holding the organization back from undergoing a successful rebuild, Friedman reveals he may just be seen a liability to organization's at this time.
And despite the fact that is an understandable argument, it is not looking too good for the Boston Bruins who have been suggested to be interested in departing with this net-minder.
