The former Bruins captain, Brad Marchand, hasn't had it easily since his departure from Boston at the NHL 2025 Trade Deadline, and things just got harder for the veteran.

The NHL Trade Deadline was a brutal day for Boston Bruins fans as they saw their 16-year veteran leave his roots and start a new journey with an opposing organization, the Florida Panthers.
Brad Marchand took his trade very hard, as seen in several of his interviews following March 7th, however, things just got harder for this forward, as he recently received tragic news, the last thing his organization wants to hear this far into the regular season.
On Sunday night, March 23, when the Florida Panthers took on the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Panthers' forward, Sam Bennett, took a puck to the knee by Penguins' defenseman, Matt Grzelcyk, when he fired off a clearing attempt that was inaccurate.
Although the shot appeared accidental, it resulted in Bennett crashing down to the ice in pain.
The proud forward then tried to get back on his feet with the help of his stick, but it eventually concluded in him needing to be helped back to the Panthers bench where he would remain for the duration of the game.
This is the last thing the organization wants for their team during this time of the season, and with Florida being Marchand's silver lining to becoming a playoff contender this year, it is gradually disintegrating as their key-forward is now labeled day-to-day.
Although the depth of Bennett's injury is unknown, we can hope Marchand still has playoff winning chances.
