The Bruins are blessed with the most depth heading into the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs, meaning Jim Montgomery has a hard decision ahead of him for game one.
Who Takes a Seat in the Press Box?
Based on reports from Warrior Ice Arena this morning, Montgomery will have a full and healthy roster to choose from when the Panthers come to Boston on Monday.
At the same time, however, this means the Bruins bench boss will have to choose between multiple players deserving of a lineup spot. A decision that, thankfully, isn't mine to make.
According to Conor Ryan of Boston.com, the morning line rushes (as follows) show somewhat of a clearer picture of what that roster could look like come game one.
Bruins practice lines, with no Bergeron:
Marchand-Zacha-DeBrusk
Bertuzzi-Krejci-Pastrnak
Hall-Coyle-Frederic
Foligno-Nosek-Hathaway
Greer - Lauko
Orlov-McAvoy
Lindholm-Carlo
Forbort-Clifton
Grzelcyk-Zboril
Ullmark
Swayman
Judging by the lines at Saturday's practice, Grzelcyk - and Zboril - will be the defenseman out. It gets a little trickier on forward, but the fact that the veteran Foligno has been out with injury since late February suggests he could be in the press box to start the postseason.
Montgomery also has a big choice of who goes where in the lineup. Boston hasn't been 100% healthy since the Trade Deadline so it will be interesting to see what he comes up with!
