When spending hours a day with teammates for years, it is inevitable that close connections grow.

Charlie McAvoy issues a new statement regarding Brad Marchand

For Charlie, bonding with his teammates is major part of the whole hockey experience, and in a recent statement, McAvoy expressed this idea.
«There's another aspect to this game that has nothing to do with on the ice, and that's the friendships,» stated the blueliner regarding his time within Boston has given him some great friends.
And like a true friend, McAvoy expressed that he loves to see his teammates grow, even if that means somewhere other than in the Bruins roster.
When former Boston Bruins veteran captain, Brad Marchand, was shockingly traded to the Florida Panthers moments before the trade deadline earlier this year in March, it was upsetting to say the least to Bruins fans.
However, Marchand clearly made airwaves after landing in Florida, where he would later achieve his second Stanley Cup of his career as a Panthers, and Charlie McAvoy couldn't have been happier about it.

On Elliotte Friedman's 32 Thoughts Podcast recently, the blueliner confessed out happy he was to see his former teammate excel within Florida.
«It was just awesome to watch. For me, it was inspiring to see him. That's a guy that I've spent, you know, every second with since the moment I got into the league. It was just fun.»

Additionally, in a recent YouTube upload by Sportnet, McAvoy further explained why Marchand's success was thrilling for him.
«You know, it was hard. It was hard times. We're not healthy, and, you know, you're seeing the struggle that those guys are going through every day when we're not getting resultsSo then you take a guy like Marshy, and, you know, you flip him to Florida, and it was almost like a little bit of a rebirth, right? And you just saw sort of like a new lease on life type thing.» McAvoy stated with joy.
