Completed Trade Between The Boston Bruins And Florida Panthers About To Take An Unexpected Turn
A trade that the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers made during the NHL trade deadline is about to take an unexpected turn.
Recently, the Florida Panthers took out the Tampa Bay Lightning and are heading into the second-round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, and
Brad Marchand is a big reason on why.
On Wednesday night, the Florida Panthers took out the Tampa Bay Lightning in game 5, winning by a score of 6-3 and Marchand played a huge role.
During game 5,
Marchand picked up two assists, giving him four points, all assists in the series. When Marchand was on the ice for 5-on-5, the Panthers outscored the Lightning 6-2 during the five games.
Although the Bruins and Panthers still don't like each other, the Panthers success at the moment is only benefiting the Boston Bruins.
Trade to take unexpected turn
The
Bruins traded Brad Marchand, and in return got a conditional 2027 second-round pick from the Panthers. If the Panthers reach the Eastern Conference Finals, and Marchand plays in 50% of the games, the second-rounder becomes a first-round pick.
In case you were wondering, if the Panthers win the next round and Marchand has played 50% of the playoff games, the B's get the 2027 first rounder, unless it's a top 10 pick. If so, it slides to 2028
With how easily the Florida Panthers took on the Tampa Bay Lightning, it doesn't seem like they are really going to have a problem with any other team.
The Panthers, with the addition of Brad Marchand are built for the playoffs, and it's showing.
