Ex-Boston Bruins Star Forwards Season Is Officially Over After Devastating Update

During the NHL trade deadline, the Frederic. Oilers reporter Tony Brar has stated that Frederic is going to be remained on the sideline for another two weeks with a lower-body injury.

Since being acquired by the Boston Bruins, Trent Frederic has yet to play in a game, and hasn't seen any action since February 25th.

Chris Johnston of TSN and The Athletic revealed at the NHL trade deadline that Trent Frederic would not be available until at least the playoffs. With that, this update doesn't mean that he is facing any setbacks, but not being able to see any games with his new team until the playoffs would not be ideal for the Edmonton Oilers.

Frederic has been having a very down season with the Boston Bruins this year having just eight goals, and seven assists for 15 points while being a minus-14 in 57 games this year. After having a career year last year, this has definitely been a down year for Freddy.

Although he has not been putting up the same numbers that he did last season, he always plays a gritty game, and has a defensive-minded approach to his game that could help the Edmonton Oilers bottom-six.

Last year in 82 games, Frederic had 52 blocks along with 204 hits in 82 games, doing all this while just averaging 13:45 of ice time per game with the Boston Bruins.

The Boston Bruins have been super inconsistent this year, and have not been in a playoff spot for awhile now. Trent Frederic was set to be a unrestricted free agent, and instead of losing him for nothing in the off-season, the Boston Bruins opted to find a trade partner.

Frederic can now play a bigger role with a real Stanley Cup contender this year in the Edmonton Oilers.
