Former Boston Bruins head coach Don Cherry was not a fan of the Boston Bruins trade deadline moves, and has called out the organization and General Manager Don Sweeney because of it.
Cherry is still in shock due to the moves that the Boston Bruins made during the NHL trade deadline, and is especially baffeled that the Bruins ended up trading their captain Brad Marchand to the Florida Panthers.
During his latest podcast, Don Cherry finally spoke out on the moves Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney made during the trade deadline as he went on a fire sale, and Cherry did not hold back at all.
Don Cherry Calls Out The Boston Bruins And Don Sweeney
Cherry stated that it was obvious they were going to miss the playoffs, but he doesn't understand why Don Sweeney made some of the moves he did.
Take a look:
«That's a big turnover, for sure. I don't understand it. Something funny going on in that whole organization. They're going to miss the playoffs, that's for sure,» Cherry said. «I don't know why they're doing this. I just don't understand it. They got rid of so many good players, and now look at them.»
Not only that, but the Boston Bruins also lost Jake DeBrusk for nothing during the off-season after he signed with the Vancouver Canucks, and traded Linus Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators during the off-season as well.
The Boston Bruins completely sold their entire team this year, and Sweeney stated the Bruins are re-tooling, but after losing all of that, how quickly can you turn things around?
