Former Boston Bruins Makes Massive Career Announcement
Jaromir Jagr, the hockey legend, is set to continue his professional career with HC Kladno in the Czech Extraliga, a club he owns.
This remarkable journey extends his pro hockey career to an incredible 35 years.
In anticipation of his early-season debut due to last year's illness, Jagr expressed his excitement, saying,
Hello ⭐️. Another hockey season has begun. I just read that I played extraliga for Kladno for the first time 35 years ago. It's been a minute. But the nervousness, the anticipation before the start This is still the same. For the first time in our home at ČEZ stadium tomorrow against the strong Pardubice. I am looking forward to hockey and the pre-match program that @kauflandcesko and I have prepared. Among other things, Olga Lounová will perform before the match. He has a nice song about being an eternal optimist. I think we could all use a little optimism for the season. I believe it will be better than the previous one. And what about you? How are you looking forward to hockey?
As Kladno faced an opening loss to HC Olomouc, Jagr decided to take the ice against Pardubice. In the shortened 2022-2023 season, he played 26 games and tallied 19 points with a 5-14 record.
Last season, Jagr's debut with Kladno saw him record two assists despite a loss to Liberec.
Having left the NHL's Calgary Flames in 2017-2018, Jagr is entering his seventh season with HC Kladno. His illustrious NHL career spanned 24 years, amassing 1,921 points (766 goals, 1155 assists) and two Stanley Cup victories.
Much like Gordie Howe, who played his final NHL game at 52, Jagr may consider retirement at the end of another season if he decides to return next year. This possibility could see his Hockey Hall of Fame induction in 2027.
