Milan Lucic reveals what he is looking forward to the most
John Scott inquired about what Lucic missed most about Boston and his level of anticipation for the opening night game against the Chicago Blackhawks, the team that showed the most interest in signing the experienced winger.
"I didn't fully grasp the extent to which I embraced the Bostonian identity. I truly connected with the people and longed for that bond once again. Opening night will likely be one of the most exhilarating games of my career."
Scott was taken aback since Lucic has participated in numerous significant games throughout his career and questioned what made this particular game so special. "It's Boston, the fans, the Garden, an original six team, and the opportunity to don the Bruins jersey and represent them again."
"In a hypothetical scenario where
Connor Bedard has the puck and is in your path, would you hit him?" Scott playfully asked, to which Lucic promptly replied, "Absolutely, you've got to run him over."
As expected, Lucic's return to the Bruins raised questions among fans and the media.
While there is a sense of nostalgia from Lucic, the Bruins organization, and their supporters, he acknowledges that his role this time around will differ. Having experienced his most successful years in Boston, Lucic's excitement about his return may ignite a reinvigoration, allowing him to recapture his former self.
