There is a lot of speculation right now that one of Boston Bruins top restricted free agents (RFA) is going to get offer sheeted in the off-season.
Morgan Geekie had a break out year for the Boston Bruins and became a big piece to their core down the stretch.
Just like Pastrnak, once the calendar year flipped to 2025,
Geekie ended up finding a new gear for the Boston Bruins and going on a complete tear.
He finished the year with 33 goals, 24 assists and 57 assists while averaging just 16:55 of ice time per game for the Bruins.
The connection Geekie and Pastrnak ended up developing down the stretch is unmatched, and it's clear that the Bruins want to keep him around.
When speaking about contract negotiations with Geekie, this is what GM Don Sweeney had to say:
We've been in constant communication with Morgan's camp since the time the season ended, Sweeney told Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald.
I have no issues with the timeline of our discussions. We'd like to get it done. We know that it's going to be somewhere between a one- and an eight-year deal. How's that?
Morgan Geekie to be offer sheeted?
There is a lot of speculation, with how much of a break out year the 26-year-old had that he may be offer sheeted in the of-season.
Because of his age, position and how he produced for the Boston Bruins, it makes sense that teams would be interested in acquiring him, but it seems like Sweeney is not fazed by the talks.
What The Bruins Will Have To Pay To Keep Geekie
According to AFP Analytics, Geekie's next contract will be around a four-year deal with an AAV of $6.59 million. Not a bad price to pay to keep a 30-goal scorer on the team who is entering his prime.
