After missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in eight years, the Boston Bruins are looking to quickly get back there.

In the off-season, Don Sweeney added a couple of impact players like Tanner Jeannot, and Viktor Arvidsson, but are remaining active ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Their biggest issue last year was the fact they struggled to score goals. They only had three 20+ goal scorers on their roster last year, one of them being former captain Brad Marchand before he was traded to the Florida Panthers.
Coming into the off-season, it was believed that the Boston Bruins were going to add some scoring depth, but they have yet to do so.
There is a chance that they look to the trade market to acquire a player that could provide them with depth scoring, and Heavy.com has proposed a 1-for-1 trade involving a player that has requested a trade.

Bruins trade Beecher to acquire Chinakhov

Heavy.com has proposed the idea that the Boston Bruins should trade John Beecher to the Columbus Blue Jackets in return for former first-round pick Yegor Chinakhov:
Boston Bruins acquire: Yegor Chinakhov

Columbus Blue Jackets acquire: John Beecher

Earlier in the off-season, it was made public that Chinakhov has requested a trade, and it came as a shock to many.
His agent was the one who made it public, and he stated that Blue Jackets head coach Dean Evason was the main reason:
«(Chinakhov) is comfortable with this team. He's comfortable with this city,» agent Shumi Babaev told The Athletic back on July 18th. «But he's not comfortable with this coach. It's all about the coach.»

Starting off the season, he began on the top line, but as the year went on he fell down the lineup, and found himself healthy scratched quite a bit.
«Any team in the NHL would say Chinny is a top-six player,» Babaev said. «If (Evason) doesn't like him, then why not trade him. Why should you hold him? What's the reason? It's the best solution.»
