Rumor: Boston Bruins acquire Colorado Avalanche star forward Martin Necas

After a very disappointing year for the Boston Bruins, everyone thought that Don Sweeney was going to make some big moves so the Bruins could bounce back.
It doesn't look like that was the case as the biggest moves Sweeney ended up making was trading for Viktor Arvidsson, and signing Tanner Jeannot to a lengthy contract.
Despite needing some secondary scoring, the Bruins signed 10 players during free agency, all of them being depth/bottom-six players.
Elliotte Friedman recently spoke on his 32 Thoughts podcast about why this may be.
Friedman stated that the Bruins have going to have some big cap space next off-season and believes that they are going to take some big swings:

The free agency list next year has some really big names on it, but the Boston Bruins may be eyeing one of the players who could change things for the organization.
Bruns to pursue Martin Necas if he hits the open market?
The Colorado Avalanche ended up trading Mikko Rantanen early on into the season in exchange for Martin Necas and other assets.
After the season came to an end, there was a lot of speculation that Necas did not want to stay with the Avalanche.
He is now entering the final year of his deal, and there is a good chance that he hits the open market come free agency next year.
If he does, the Boston Bruins are going to be a team to watch out for in sweepstakes.
You have to wonder if the #NHLBruins have their eye on the Martin Necas situation in Colorado. He's one of the few guys in next year's stacked FA class that may actually get to market.
