Rumor: Boston Bruins trade Pavel Zacha to the Vancouver Canucks in a blockbuster deal
The Boston Bruins' general manager, Don Sweeney, is in dire need to make some immense moves this offseason if they intend to continue their re-tool.
Luckily, the Bruins and Sweeney have accumulated a haul of draft picks amid a season gone awful.
The Bruins' sell-off at the deadline secured:
2025 second-round pick (via Edmonton)
2025 second-round pick (via Colorado)
2025 fourth-round pick (Toronto)
2026 conditional first-round pick (Toronto - top-5 protected)
2026 sixth-round pick (Minnesota)
2027/2028 first-round pick (Florida)
With this sell off by
Don Sweeney all but confirms more major moves are incoming, and an NHL and Bruins analyst Conor Ryan just revealed that may be happening in just moments of time.
According to Conor Ryan, the Bruins and GM Don Sweeney could look to gert younger in two ways with this exciting move.
It does entail losing a top 6-forward, but it also secures the Bruins a prominent defensive prospects and a new top-6 forward in
Nils Hoglander, who could flourish with the Bruins if handled properly.
Bruins acquire pick No. 15 (used to select D Jackson Smith) and forward Nils Hoglander
Canucks acquire forwards Pavel Zacha and
Marat Khusnutdinov
Zacha would certainly be a sizeable loss for the Boston Bruins, but the proposed return could end up pleasing Bruins fans in the long run, with Hoglander showing great promise at such a young age, despite being on a struggling Vancouver Canucks franchise.
Buckle up Bruins fans, the next few weeks will determine everything.
