Teams have extra time to give RFA's an offer
In a departure from the norm, the deadline for Qualifying Offers to Restricted Free Agents (RFAs) has been extended this year.
Typically, teams are required to submit these offers by the later of June 25 or the Draft. However, due to the draft being scheduled for June 28/29 and free agency starting on July 1, the Qualifying Offer deadline has been pushed to June 30.
This change provides the Boston Bruins, who have multiple RFAs, with additional time to evaluate and decide which players they intend to extend offers to.
The extended deadline offers the Bruins a valuable opportunity to carefully consider their options and secure the rights of their desired RFAs.
