GM Don Sweeney is taking care of business today! Moments after acquiring Tyler Bertuzzi from the Red Wings, the Bruins also agreed to a contract extension for David Pastrnak.
As per Ty Anderson:
David Pastrnak extension: $11.25M per year. Eight years.
Pasta is on pace for a career year with 42 goals and 38 assists through 60 games. He's currently second in the NHL in goals behind Connor McDavid (52), and tied for fourth in points with 80.
This gives Pastrnak the highest AAV in Bruins history, surpassing Charlie McAvoy's $9.5 million that was signed in October of 2021. According to spotrac.com, he will also be the sixth highest player in the league next season.
