This off-season has been a weird one for free agents around the NHL. We're a week into September, and some notable names are still on the free agent market.
One depth option comes to mind,
Evan Rodrigues. On the ''32 Thoughts'' podcast, trusted NHL insider Elliotte Friedman discussed that there has been a lot of interest in Rodrigues.
Rodrigues, 29, had a breakout season for the Pittsburgh Penguins last season, setting new career highs in goals, assists and points, including 19 goals and 24 assists for 43 points in all 82 games.
Rodrigues doesn't have a long track record, but if last season is any indication, he deserves a middle-six deal.
It will be interesting to see where he lands and how he does this coming season. The Anaheim Ducks are rumoured to be a potential landing spot. The Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Seattle Kraken, Vancouver Canucks and Pittsburgh Penguins have also been linked to Rodrigues.
