Politicians always try and wiggle their way into subjects places where they often don't belong.
Making suggestions without any supporting information and even attempting to alter the trajectory of major sports.
Recently a politician in Quebec tried to remove fighting from all levels of hockey, including Major Junior leagues, and even went as far as threatening to pull funding or licensing if steps weren't taken to remove fights from the game. That political power grab is still underway.
But that idea, as bad as it was, isn't as bad as this idea shared by New Democratic Party Member of Parliament Bonita Zarrillo. Early this week, Zarrillo took to her Twitter account to share this not-so-brilliant idea that she's since deleted.
''ls indoor skating ice even a necessity anymore? Can every ice sport be done without ice and different equipment?...just pondering the climate impact of
human-made indoor ice.''
It didn't take long for the Twitter public to do their thing, and Bonita opted to delete her tweet instead of taking her deserved punishment.
But like most politicians, Bonita found out there was already a solution to the imaginary problem she created.
