This incident comes from Quebec City earlier today, as a 42-year-old referee has been arrested after reportedly assaulting a 10-year-old player.
TVA Sports reported the following information about the incident:
''A 42-year-old man was arrested in Quebec City for assaulting a child at the Intact Insurance Ice Center on Sunday morning.''
''The Quebec City Police Department (SPVQ) was called to the Sainte-Foy sports complex around 9:25 a.m. for an adult who allegedly physically assaulted a youth.''
According to those in attendance, the ref delivered a deliberate and unprovoked elbow to the midsection of the player, causing a huge - and justified - reaction from the crowd.
