It was just confirmed for interim head coach Joe Sacco and the Boston Bruins
With the recent news about the Boston Bruins closing in on hiring their next head coach of the organization, it has basically confirmed Joe Sacco's fate with the team moving forward.
The Boston Bruins went on to have one of their worst seasons in nearly a decade
missing the playoffs, finishing dead last in the Atlantic Division for the first time ever, and finishing 28th in the league.
It wasn't all on Joe Sacco, as the Bruins had a lot of players underperform, but Sacco's system did not seem to work for the Bruins.
After the season came to an end, Don Sweeney stated that the Boston Bruins were going to be looking for a new head coach and that Sacco was a candidate for the full-time position, but a recent announcement confirmed his fate with the organization.
Joe Sacco's fate with the Bruins confirmed
BREAKING: #NHLBruins to hire Marco Sturm as new head coach, per
@Hockey_Robinson
All signs are pointing to him being the next head coach, but according to multiple reports there are still three coaches in the running for the Bruins vacant head coaching position in Jay Leach, Marco Sturm, and Jay Woodcroft.
Yesterday, on the @sickpodnhl, I reported that Marco Sturm and Jay Leach were frontrunners to become the next HC of the #NHLBruins.
That is still true, but I've since been told by two trusted sources that former #LetsGoOilers HC Jay Woodcroft is too, and may be 'The Frontrunner'
With that being said, the Bruins are not going to be hiring Sacco as their full-time head coach, and it's unclear if he will stick around on the coaching staff or not.
