Nikolaj Ehlers signs with the Boston Bruins: They now have their official answer

Following the end of the season for the Winnipeg Jets, Nikolaj Ehlers made it clear he was going to be testing the waters in free agency.
During the opening day of NHL free agency on July 1st, Elliotte Friedman stated that it's likely Nikolaj Ehlers was not going to sign on the opening day.
Well now we are three days into free agency, and he has still yet to sign a contract with a team.
With the bigger names like Mitch Marner, Brad Marchand and Brock Boeser off the table, Ehlers is the biggest free agent left.
Making him one of the most coveted free agents, and teams are willing to pay for his services.
With the Bruins wanting to make some big upgrades to their offense this off-season, Ehlers would be a perfect fit for them, but it doesn't seem likely to happen.
The Bruins have their answer on Nikolaj Ehlers
According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, Nikolaj Ehlers has officially made a decision regarding his future.
Friedman revealed that Ehlers is signing with the Carolina Hurricanes:

The Boston Bruins went out and made some weird moves during the opening day of free agency.
Sweeney stated he wanted to bring in secondary scoring into the top-six, but instead all of his signings were bottom-six/depth players.
After spending basically all of their money on depth players, the Bruins would have had to make some big trades if they wanted to land Ehlers.
