Transaction: The Boston Bruins have signed Trent Frederic's replacement in free agency

The Boston Bruins made a lot of moves during free agency on July 1st, and they officially replaced long-time fan favourite Trent Frederic.
Just a couple days before the 2024-25 NHL trade deadline, the Boston Bruins ended up trading Trent Frederic to the Edmonton Oilers.
After trading him away, it wasn't clear if they were going to replace him, or let some of their prospects crack the lineup for the 2025-26 season.
Well during the opening day of free agency, the Boston Bruins ended up replacing him with a much tougher player.
Bruins sign Tanner Jeannot to replace Trent Frederic
The first signing of the day for the Boston Bruins was Tanner Jeannot. Elliotte Friedman revealed that the Bruins signed him to a 5-year, $3.4 million contract.

A lot of fans weren't mad with the signing, but they were not the happiest with the length of the deal, and the money given to him:

Jeannot is going to be a body guard for the Boston Bruins younger prospects for the next five years, and it should have Bruins fans excited.
Can't believe the Bruins would want an absolute warrior who is tough as shit and not afraid of anyone. Body guards who can play like Jeannot don't grow on trees.
Jeannot is going to make sure that no one pushes around some of the Bruins top prospects coming into the league.
